Trade Accelerator Program

Grow your business and export with confidence

The Trade Accelerator Program (TAP) is unique in that it provides companies with access to export authorities, experts, resources and contacts—all in one place—as they develop and execute a market-entry export plan.

TAP is supported by the Mobilizing SMEs to Export Initiative to assist in delivering Canada's Export Diversification Strategy.

Unparalleled Access

From legal and tax to sales and marketing, companies get access to a host of experts and advisors with international experience. TAP is the only program where leading export knowledge and industry experts spanning multiple business functions can be found in one place.

Coaching and Mentorship

A team of experts and advisors will coach and mentor companies on a one-to-one level, pointing out pitfalls to avoid and best practices to implement. These experts provide valuable feedback to companies as they write their export plan and execute their strategy.

Export Plan

At the conclusion of TAP, companies will have a market-entry export plan that has been reviewed by export authorities and experts. These plans not only set the strategy for a company to enter a new market, but can also be used to apply for grants and loans, receive provincial or federal support, and more.

The value that Pura Botanicals has received from TAP is not only being able to plan how we're going to export, but also having a panel of experts there to guide and coach us.

TAP is a 6-week program with four mandatory attendance days. Companies pay a fee of $500 to register or can seek nomination from a TAP sponsor to participate at no cost.

1. Export Training Days

The first two days of the program introduces companies to core business functions (such as finance and expansion, market-entry strategy, and logistics) required to succeed internationally. You will network with other companies and participate in group learning activities.

2. Export Plan Day

One week after Export Training, companies will familiarize themselves with the export plan and experts will be on-hand to provide answers and recommendations as you begin writing. Export plans are required to be submitted three weeks later for feedback.

3. Mentoring Day

On the final day of the program, you will spend one on one time with each expert to ask any questions or get clarification on the feedback you received. Companies will be expected to finalize their export plan after this date and will receive ongoing support after the program ends.
