The You’re Welcome Edmonton Awards Program

Employees who pride themselves in promoting Greater Edmonton through exemplary service, warm hospitality and commitment to excellence may be nominated by visitors, local customers, managers, peers and co-workers.  Nominations are accepted throughout the year with a deadline of December 31st.  Nominations can be made online at www.yourewelcomeedmonton.com or through nomination cards that are available from restaurants, hotels and other locations throughout Greater Edmonton. In early spring, nominees are informed in writing of their nomination and are invited to attend an interview to share their service expertise and experiences via predetermined questions.  This meeting is then scored based on their responses to specific questions and those nominees with the highest tabulated scores in their specific job categories are selected as award finalists. The actual awards are presented at a spectacular celebration which takes place at Edmonton’s beautiful Winspear Centre for Music.  This celebratory evening is like the Academy Awards for the Service Industry!  All nominees who attend the interview process are provided with 2 complimentary tickets for this gala event which includes red carpet treatment, talented emcees, entertainment, anticipation and excitement for the announcement of the Award recipients and a jubilant champagne reception afterwards. Making the Commitment to Frontline and Supervisory Training

Making the Commitment: Customer Service from the Inside Out is a frontline customer service focused training course. This program is an interactive experience, developed in a fun and enjoyable environment with hands-on techniques catering to the adult learner. The course introduces the concept of a cycle of service specific to the hospitality and tourism industry, which displays how everyone in every role, is a stakeholder in a "Customer Experience Team."
