Youth

There are resources for students to find both summer jobs and permanent part-time jobs while they are still in school.

  • Students can review 1,000s of job listings from across Canada by visiting Service Canada's Job Bank and Student Job Bank. Students will also find helpful information about how to get a job and how to plan a career.
  • Canada Summer Jobs is an initiative of the Summer Work Experience program. It provides funding for not-for-profit organizations, public-sector employers, and small businesses with 50 or fewer employees to create high-quality summer job opportunities for students between the ages of 15 and 30.
  • Working Canada has a searchable database for jobs of all kinds, by categories. The information draws from various sources, but primarily Edmonton Journal employment listings.
  • Youthone is very helpful for youth in general, with good links to employment opportunities and job search issues.

River Valley and Parks

“The river valley is the city equivalent of having a secret identity. Of course, the secret is there, for everyone to see. You just have to be able to see the city for the trees.” A Tale of Two Cities – Stephen Hunt, Calgary Herald 07/10/2007
