Head to the Downtown Arts District in the city’s core where Edmonton’s cultural centre is bustling with world-class venues such as the Francis Winspear Centre for Music, the Citadel Theatre and the Art Gallery of Alberta. As Alberta’s Capital City, the Alberta Legislature building, Alberta’s architectural treasure is set amidst beautiful gardens and water displays.
Take a day trip just outside the city limits for more attractions including Elk Island National Park, Kalyna Country (Canada’s largest eco-museum), Devonian Botanic Garden, Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village and the Canadian Petroleum Interpretive Centre.
A few hours away is Jasper and the majestic Canadian Rockies where you can take in Maligne Lake, along with pristine natural beauty Spirit Island; the oldest attraction in Jasper Park as well as the largest lake in the area.
