Winter Festivals

The first winter festival in downtown Edmonton, the Metropolis International Winter Festival is simply amazing! Starting New Year’s Eve and continuing through Family Day weekend (December 31-February 20), Metropolis is a Sir Winston Churchill Square festival of lights, sound and live entertainment for the entire family.

On Edmonton’s north side? Drop by Alberta Avenue January 7-8 for a no-cost family-friendly celebration of the magic and beauty of winter.

Enjoy the sights and sounds of the Ice On Whyte Festival January 12-22. Be astonished by the
incredible ice sculptures created by internationally renowned artists.

One of Edmonton's longest running winter festivals, Silver Skate Festival (February 17-20) is a blend of arts, culture, recreation and sport in the heart of the city river valley.
