Education in Edmonton
Alberta spends more money per student on education than any province in Canada. Our world-class public educational institutions produce a well-educated, capable work force with a positive, entrepreneurial work ethic.
The University of Alberta in Edmonton is the largest research institution in the province and aims to be among the top 20 in the world by 2020, hoping to bring education in Canada to a whole other level.
The Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) is one of the pre-eminent institutes of technology in Canada, providing practical, hands-on education in business, advanced technologies and skilled trades. We serve more than 86,500 customers annually at 15 locations in Alberta and in 17 countries around the world.
Industry apprentices in Alberta are trained on the job by experienced, certified journeymen. Hands-on learning is supplemented by classroom or distance training through a post-secondary institution, often NAIT, pushing Alberta education forward.
Grant MacEwan University offers more than 60 programs, including bachelor and applied degrees, diplomas and certificates. Students can choose from full-time, part-time or online studies.
