July 2, 2008 - EEDC executive Ken Fiske named Alto Ambassador for 2008

Vice-President, Tourism and Marketing honoured to be chosen

Edmonton Economic Development Corp. (EEDC) proudly recognizes Ken Fiske for being named Alto Ambassador for 2008 by the Alberta Tourism Awards (Alto) Committee. Ken Fiske is EEDC’s Vice-President of Tourism and Marketing.

The Alto Ambassador award winner is selected by the Alberta Tourism Awards (Alto) Committee and independently determined by a panel of 24 industry judges — the Strategic Tourism Marketing Council. Each year the award recognizes an exceptional Albertan who has made an outstanding contribution to the provincial tourism industry. The individual is a role model who has consistently demonstrated leadership throughout his or her career.

“I’m very honoured that the Alberta Tourism Awards Committee has selected me as this year’s Alto Ambassador,” says Ken Fiske. “It’s absolutely thrilling to be recognized by my peers with this esteemed designation.”

“I want to congratulate Ken Fiske on behalf of EEDC for winning this prestigious award,” says Ron Gilbertson, EEDC President and CEO. “It’s a testament to his dedication and tireless promotion of Edmonton and Alberta as must-see destinations for tourism, conventions, major events and film production.”

Ken Fiske will be formally recognized on Oct. 27, 2008 at the CanWest Alto Awards Gala in conjunction with the 8th Annual Tourism Industry Conference, Oct. 26-28, 2008 at The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel and Conference Centre.
