Gennux Microsystems is defying gravity with cloud technology
- Edmonton Research Park reveals its first Featured Innovator
Edmonton Economic Development Corporation (EEDC) is pleased to showcase Gennux Microsystems as the first Edmonton Research Park (ERP) Featured Innovator. The Featured Innovator program highlights the ERP tenants that are making waves in their advanced technology fields.
Edmonton Research Park resident Gennux Microsystems Corp. developed PureInbox in 2008. PureInbox is a computer software program that synchronizes data to all places and applications. Any change made to data in one place (on the web, desktop and/or mobile device) is immediately updated to others using an information cloud.
Syncamatic, a PureInbox product, takes this conception a step further and allows data from all types of operating systems and their respective software programs to synchronize.
“The average person uses multiple types of computer software,” says PureInbox co-founder Sam Huang. “He or she might have a Blackberry for business, a Mac at the office, a PC at home. Well, Syncamatic automatically syncs calendar, contact, file, or memo pad updates, everywhere you need it – no cords required.”
When Syncamatic launches this month, the basic software will be a free app download for all Blackberry users. Syncamatic is Blackberry’s closest competition to the IPhone’s MobileMe app, and it was developed right here, at
the Edmonton Research Park.
“Gennux Microsystems is a great example of a young, leading-edge company creating foundations for the future economy in our region,” says Candace Brinsmead, Vice-President, Technology Advancement, EEDC. “I am thrilled that Syncamatic, a product developed at the ERP, is being sold and distributed around the globe.”
